After graduating from TED Ankara College, Hilmi Güner received his bachelor degree from METU Faculty of Architecture in 1987. After his graduation, he took a short-term education about planning of satellite cities in Germany.
He worked at Altay@Altay, Toğrul Devres, Çinici Architecture and revolving fund projects in the Faculty of Architecture at METU. He also worked at projects that locates in Germany and Saudi Arabia (GAMA A.Ş). He founded an architectural office (Artı Tasarım Mimarlık) with his two partners in 1992. Güner, who has realized many urban design, landscape design, architectural design, interior design and construction projects in Turkey and abroad, won awards in many national and international competitions.
In addition to his professional practice, he also contributed to the academic environment. He worked as a part-time instructor in a design studio at Bilkent University in the department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design and Landscape Design studio at METU.
Currently, while he is continuing to participate national and international competitions in urban and architecture scale, he is also working with different projects as Hilmi Güner Architecture Office which was established in 2008 by him.
